Getting Started

New to SeekPrep? This guide walks you through the first five things to try after you sign up. Each step takes under two minutes.

1. Create your account

1. Go to the sign-up page.
2. Enter your email and a password.
3. Check your inbox for a verification email and click the link inside.

If you received an invitation link, follow that instead — it will pre-fill your email and skip the public sign-up flow.

2. Start your first AI tutor chat

1. Open the chat page from the navigation menu.
2. The General Assistant is selected by default. Type a question — anything from "Explain photosynthesis like I'm five" to "Help me debug this Python snippet."
3. Press Enter (or click Send).

The AI tutor responds in plain text by default and can render code blocks, math (via LaTeX), tables, and inline images when relevant.

To switch tutors, use the agent picker at the top of the chat — see AI Tutor for what each persona is best at.

3. Upload your first document

To get answers grounded in your own material:

1. Open the Knowledge page.
2. Click Upload and choose a PDF, image, or text file from your device.
3. Wait for the file to finish indexing — larger PDFs take longer.
4. Back in chat, your tutor will now answer questions using that document and cite which section the answer came from.

4. Generate your first flashcard deck

1. Open any chat where you've discussed a topic (or upload a document first).
2. Ask the AI tutor: "Make flashcards from this."
3. Open the Flash Cards page — your new deck appears in the list.
4. Click the deck to study: see the front, flip to the back, and self-grade.

5. Take your first quiz

1. In chat, ask the AI tutor: "Quiz me on [topic]."
2. The tutor generates a set of questions.
3. Answer them, self-grade, and the results feed into your mastery tracking.
